X300, a Cold War-Era Survival Game Exploring Australia’s Nuclear Past

Our new project is quite ambitious, I wont lie. There is a lot to do and a lot to consider. Our new survival game will explore the secret British-Australian nuclear tests in the South Australian outback in the 1950’s.

Set deep within the Australian outback, X300 places players inside a remote, abandoned test facility from the Cold War era, a place sealed off from the world and left to decay. What begins as a struggle for survival quickly becomes a descent into a forgotten site where dangerous experiments, environmental hazards, and hostile threats still linger.

Blending atmospheric exploration, resource management, and tense first-person gameplay, X300 challenges players to scavenge for supplies, uncover classified remnants of the past, and survive in an unforgiving environment where nothing is as dormant as it appears.

The project draws inspiration from historical themes surrounding Cold War testing and isolation, while presenting a fictionalised setting and narrative designed to focus on suspense, environmental storytelling, and player choice. The goal is to create a grounded horror experience that feels unsettling, immersive, and authentic without retelling or depicting real-world events.
