Dolven – Three Years, Two People, Countless Coffees… and It’s Finally Here!

Well folks… we did it. After three years, approximately 1,247 cups of coffee, an alarming number of late-night “what if we just redo this entire feature? and Can we have a Knight in Shining armour ride in on a magnificent horse?” conversations, and enough bug fixes to fill a small novel, Dolven is finally ready to meet the world!

It’s been a wild ride for our tiny-but-mighty team of two – but we didn’t make it here alone.

First, a massive shout-out to Mike from The Kids From Yesterday Studio, who fearlessly dove into the trenches with us. Then there’s Andrew from Covyne Entertainment started this little shenanigans with a weekend project to ‘play around with some combat cards’ who probably hasn’t had a proper weekend since 2022. Add in the boundless support of Trent Euman, a Swinburne graduate who has enough energy for all of us to keep going and stay on our feet.

A round of applause for Yee Wong, whose magical colourisations brought Dolven’s world to life, and Brionne Naish, who kept the wheels turning – wrangling events, social media, and marketing while we buried ourselves in code and card balancing. We’ve also had help from Alex & Renee at The IndieXP who was instrumental in helping us with marketing and outreach and press releases and getting into some festivals, huge thankyou and appreciation there.

And, of course, a bow of gratitude to Neil Rennison from Tin Man Studios, who kindly offered us nuggets of industry wisdom (and occasionally reminded us not to giveup our day jobs….which we haven’t we are still slaves to the system!).

This game has been made with equal parts passion, persistence, and a stubborn refusal to quit – and now, after all the laughs, tears, and “accidental” energy drink overdoses… Dolven is ready for YOU.

Get your decks ready. Sharpen your tactics. And please, for the love of all things card-based, have fun, we certainly did!
