Maralinga on Kickstarter

We’re pleased to announce that the pre-launch page for MARALINGA is now live on Kickstarter. This is the first public step on a project we’ve been planning for the past 12 months. Maralinga is a narrative investigation game about the Maralinga tests, made in partnership with Oak Valley. We’ve committed to community consultation, commissioned Indigenous artworks, and have begun initial stages of development.

Why this matters: Maralinga isn’t just a game. It’s a way to learn, to listen and to remember. The story is emotional and politically charged; we’ll show it respectfully and responsibly, with Oak Valley Community members guiding the first nations content. Military stories will be sourced from national archive material, books that have been written and personal testimonies of survivors.

From the team Andrew & Brionne Naish:
We came to this project because a story grabbed us and wouldn’t let go. We visited the site, spoke to Oak Valley, and realised this needed to be handled with humility and care. The Kickstarter helps us get a vertical slice of the game that we can take to investors

Content note: Maralinga addresses historical nuclear testing, contamination and cultural trauma. We include clear content warnings and options for players who need them.
