X300 Playtest Now Available on Steam

We’ve reached an exciting new milestone in the development of X300. The official Steam Playtest is now open.

Players can visit the X300 Steam page, select “Request Access” and step into our Australian psychological survival horror experience ahead of PAX Aus this October.

What’s in the Playtest?

The playtest gives players an early look at X300 as Bruce Mercer follows a message from his missing brother into the Australian Outback and towards a Facility that officially does not exist.

This version allows us to test the experience with a wider group of players, gather feedback and identify areas that need further refinement before the public demo is released.

Testing the Dossier System

The Playtest introduces our developing Personnel Dossier system. X300 observes aspects of how you approach the game, including the actions you take, the information you examine and the way you respond to danger.

At the end of the experience, players complete a Rapid Personnel Assessment and are assigned one of five Facility classifications:

  • Explorer

  • Survivor

  • Investigator

  • Risk Taker

  • Strategist

Players can then view and share their classification dossier and compare their results with friends.

Next Stop: PAX Aus

X300 will be appearing at PAX Aus this October, where visitors will be able to play our latest demo and complete the Personnel Assessment at our booth.

After finishing the demo, players will receive a physical classification card containing a QR code that opens their full digital dossier.

We’ll also have new X300 merchandise available, including Facility shirts and GOLIATH medal pins.

The Public Demo Is Coming

Following PAX Aus, we plan to release the updated X300 demo publicly on Steam.

The feedback gathered during the playtest and at PAX will help us prepare the strongest possible version for release. This is an important step for our small independent team, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who plays, reports issues and shares their thoughts with us.
